Why Discord asks for a phone number
Discord uses phone verification to fight spam. You may be asked to verify when you join a server that requires a verified phone, when Discord detects unusual activity, or when you turn on SMS-based security. Many server admins and community managers prefer not to tie their personal SIM to a public-facing account, which is where a Discord virtual number helps.
Verify Discord step by step
- Sign in to SMSFlash and top up from $5 in USDT.
- Search for Discord and pick a country with numbers in stock.
- In Discord, open User Settings, My Account, and add a phone number. Choose the same country code and paste the number.
- Complete the captcha. The 6-digit code appears in your SMSFlash account within seconds to a few minutes.
- Enter the code in Discord. Done.
"This phone number is invalid" or no code
Discord blocks some number ranges, especially ones it classifies as VoIP or that were used on other Discord accounts. If Discord refuses the number or nothing arrives within 2 to 3 minutes, cancel the order to get your balance back and try another country. Our code not received guide lists more fixes.
After verification
A one-time number usually cannot receive a second code. Turn on two-factor authentication with an authenticator app and save your backup codes so you never need that number again. If you want Discord to be able to text you later, rent a number instead.
Play fair
Use verification for your own legitimate accounts. Creating accounts to evade bans, raid servers or send spam breaks Discord’s rules and those accounts get removed quickly.

Frequently asked questions
Does Discord accept virtual numbers?
Many virtual numbers work, but Discord blocks some ranges. If one is refused, cancel for a refund and try another country.
Can one number verify several Discord accounts?
Discord allows a phone number on only one account at a time, so each account needs its own number.
How much does a Discord number cost?
Prices vary by country and stock and are shown live on the Discord service page. You are only charged if a code arrives.
